The Entrepreneur

Eran Orr, founder and CEO of XRHealth, served for more than a decade as a fighter pilot in the Israel Air Force and was injured during his service. After a long recovery and rehabilitation process, he began a thorough study of whether there are injuries typical of various professions in the Air Force.

As part of his research, he discovered that such specific injuries do exist: Those in certain jobs tend to suffer from lower back problems, while those in others are prone to cervical spine injuries. After learning that preventive training can almost completely solve typical injuries, Orr decided to promote a program for preventive training for the various populations and professions in the Air Force. Thus was born the program for preventing spine injuries in the Air Force.

As part of his work in the program, Orr noticed that physical therapy training and prevention exercises have two major limitations:

  1. They are tedious and rather boring exercises, and most patients do not follow up with them at home (especially not children and older people).

  1. The physiotherapy treatments that exist today do not allow for accurate monitoring of the rehabilitation and recovery process, and there is also difficulty in remote monitoring and follow-up.

Upon his release from the IDF, Eran decided to launch a necessary revolution in the world of physiotherapy; for this purpose he founded XRHealth.

The Company

XRHealth provides a digital treatment experience that combines the worlds of artificial intelligence and games. The company's software produces a virtual reality and an augmented reality environment - games, movies or any other option - that causes the user to interact with the environment. The interactive platform turns the Sisyphean rehabilitation process into an enjoyable virtual experience and enables ongoing monitoring of the progress of the process. As well, it identifies the most effective training protocols based on Big Data.

XRHealth is the first in the world to have an ISO standard for developing medical applications in virtual reality. The company develops FDA and CE approved VR/AR medical applications, for use both in the clinic and at home. The applications cover a wide range of medical disciplines, including pain management, physical, motor and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as healthcare applications for preventive medicine and health promotion. As part of its collaboration with the largest AR/VR companies in the market, XRHealth works with the most advanced technologies and harnesses the capabilities of AR/VR for the most urgent health needs.

As of April 2023, XRHealth is merging with Amelia Virtual Care, which developed the world's leading platform for mental health care through virtual reality. The connection between the two companies makes them the first, largest and most comprehensive platform in the world for XR-based medical treatment.

Amelia Virtual Care provides evidence-based virtual reality tools for mental health professionals to use in their practice. The company’s VR platform is used by over 2,000 therapists across the globe to enhance patient therapy for both in-person and remote environments. www.ameliavirtualcare.com
